Laura Gibson is one of four partners who founded Ogden, Gibson, Broocks & Longoria, L.L.P. in 1993. The Firm is a Certified Women’s Business Entity. Before 1993, Ms. Gibson was a trial partner with Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & LaBoon (now Locke Liddell & Sapp) in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Gibson is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law. She has extensive trial and appellate experience handling complex commercial litigation and arbitrations in areas involving employment, energy, securities, banking, copyright and communications law. She has handled arbitrations before the National Association of Securities Dealers and the American Arbitration Association. 

Ms. Gibson has served on the Advertising Review Committee for the State Bar of Texas since 2004. In 2006, she was named Vice-Chair of the Committee. In 2007, she was reappointed to the Committee for a three year term and was named Chair of the Committee for the 2007-08 Bar year.

Ms. Gibson is a member of the Labor & Employment and Litigation Sections of the Texas and Houston Bar Associations and is the Chair of the HBA Labor & Employment Section. She is also a Director of the HBA Litigation Section. She serves on the Board of Directors for the HBA. She is Co-Chair of the Judicial Polls Committee and serves on the HBA CLE Committee and the Minority Opportunities in the Law Committee. Ms. Gibson serves on the Steering Committee for the 2007 Texas Minority Counsel Program. She is a member of the ABA Labor & Employment and Litigation Sections. Ms. Gibson is also a member of the Association of Women Attorneys. 

Ms. Gibson is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation. She is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Society of Human Resource Management, the HBA Securities Litigation & Arbitration Section, the Legal & Compliance Division of the Securities Industry Association and Leadership Houston (Class XVIII).

Ms. Gibson teaches as an instructor at the NITA Southern Regional Trial Advocacy Program and the University of Houston Deposition NITA Program. She obtained her B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1982, and her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in December 1984, where she graduated in the top fifteen percent of her class and served on the Board of Advocates.
